The Jerusalem Princess Basma Centre conducts a training program for one of its partner centers.

The General Director of Basma Centre, Mrs. Violette Mubarak, appreciated the work of the partner centers, pointing out the importance of working together and creating a more positive social environment that can accommodate children with disabilities to realize their aspirations and provide them with equal opportunities to become active members within their communities.

The Outreach Program Coordinator, Mrs. Lucy Gharyb, on the other hand, highlighted the importance of working systemically, pointing out that it is one of the most important reasons for the continuous development and improvement of children. She also indicated the importance of continuous evaluation of the treatment sessions by the parents and that they must be involved in these treatment sessions to ensure that the goals for their children are achieved.

For her part, Mrs. Muzain Armoush, Director of Al Karama Rehabilitation Center, thanked the Basma Centre for hosting their center. She pointed out the importance of the diversity and intensity of the services offered, while praising the wide ranging capacity of the Centre to serve a large number of children.

A Special Education expert, Mrs. Moshira Sharaya, praised the Basma Centre for its care in maintaining the privacy of each child and family during treatment sessions and within the different departments, stressing that this is necessary to benefit children and to improve the quality of treatments offered.

This training comes under the Program, ‘Building the Capacity of the Community Based Rehabilitation Organizations to serve marginalized families with children with disabilities in the West Bank’, which is funded generously by Embrace the Middle East.
